Oaks Hotels & Resorts expands Queensland property portfolio

17 Sep 2013

Leading accommodation provider Oaks Hotels & Resorts, a division of Minor International PCL, is set to significantly grow its presence nationally in the last quarter of 2013 and early 2014, with three new properties launching in Queensland.

New-build 4.5 star hotels are currently under construction in key regional destinations including Middlemount, Moranbah and Gladstone, representing the best available accommodation in each respective market and taking Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ total property portfolio to 44, cementing its standing as an industry frontrunner.

On track to open on 21 October 2013, Oaks Middlemount, located in the heart of Central Queensland mining town Middlemount, will offer a selection of spacious one and two bedroom apartments spread across two levels, each fully self-contained with modern kitchens and laundries, and all air conditioned.

Approximately 240 kilometres inland from Mackay and Rockhampton, Middlemount is one of Australia’s burgeoning mining communities, home to a large transient population. Featuring a BBQ area and undercover car parking, this property will provide workers, their families and visitors to the town with affordable, quality, self-contained accommodation and convenient leisure facilities, suitable for both short and longer stays. The property occupies one of the most central positions in town, adjacent to the sports and leisure centre, opposite the local shopping centre and just a short drive to the scenic Bundoora Dam – perfect for fishing, boating, water-skiing and swimming.

Further north and scheduled to open on 28 October, Oaks Moranbah in the Isaac Region will offer a brand new accommodation alternative in the young coal-mining town. In the final stages of construction and spanning three levels the property features a great selection of one and two bedroom, self-contained apartments featuring full laundry and kitchen facilities, internet access and cable TV.

Located on Bacon Street, the hotel is in close proximity to the newly refurbished town centre, comprising an exciting selection of cafes and restaurants, as well as the Moranbah Golf Club, shopping centre, handful of grassy parks and of course, the many nearby mines.

To celebrate the opening of these two exciting additions to Moranbah and Middlemount, Oaks Hotel & Resorts has released some incredible accommodation specials for travellers seeking deluxe accommodation in these regions. Stay in a contemporary one-bedroom apartment at Oaks Moranbah or Oaks Middlemount from as little as $209 per night, or a generously sized two-bedroom apartment from $279 per night.

Gladstone is also gearing to welcome a brand new addition, with the construction of 144 one-bedroom apartments, named Oaks Grand, currently underway. The property is set to boast exceptional entertainment and leisure facilities including a  gym, as well as unsurpassed hospitality options. Once complete, the property will stand at a statuesque 13 levels, offering unrivalled views of the surrounding Gladstone region. Home to Queensland’s largest multi-commodity port and renowned as the gateway to Heron Island and other picturesque holiday hot spots, Oaks Grand will be a popular choice for both itinerant travellers and holidaymakers looking for a modern base from which to explore the region.

General Manager of Sales for Oaks Hotels & Resorts, Daniel Csortan, commented, “These additions mark an exciting chapter in Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ regional expansion. This is an excellent opportunity to capitalise on the growing communities in these relatively untapped locations and we look forward to catering to this new market of travellers seeking spacious, central, self-contained apartments.”
