Queenstown Snow fields
Queenstown is surrounded by alpine resorts and is one of the most spectacular and prestigious destinations for your next skiing holiday. There are four major ski resorts within 2 hours’ drive and over 100 restaurants, bars and cafes. Coronet Peak and the Remarkables ski resorts can be accessed via a short bus or car ride, while Cardrona is about a 60 minute drive. If you travel a little further (90 mins) you can access Treble Cone.
Is only a 20 minutes’ drive from Queenstown and is open for all levels of skiers from the experts to the early beginners. Coronet Peak has seen a makeover in the recent years and now offers modern lifts and state of the art snowmaking. The resort is open early from 8am and runs through till late on the weekends with Fridays and Saturdays opening until 9pm. The base lodge provides an abundance of facilities and stunning views.
This ski resort is fun for all ages and is the perfect place for beginners, youth and families. The kids can enjoy the snow for free if they are aged 10 years and under. The Remarkables is just 45 minutes from Queenstown and offers a range of ski areas with terrain parks, wide slopes for all beginners and steep mountains for the experts. Before you leave make sure to visit the Ozone Snow Tubing Park and finish up with a hot drink while watching the live entertainment on weekends.
Cardrona has been known for its fun, family atmosphere and is named as the seconnd largest ski area in the Queenstown Lake Wanaka region. All beginners can enjoy the large beginner slopes. Cardrona also has the best half-pipes and terrain parks in the southern hemisphere. There are 5 cafes on the mountain where you can find a variety of meals and beverages. The ski resort is accessible via shuttle, bus or car from Queenstown and Wanaka and takes about 60 minutes.
TC provides the best terrain of any ski resorts within the Australasia area, with slopes for beginners through to the experienced.
