The Entrance is a quiet beachside town at the entrance of Tuggerah Lakes. Only an hour and a half drive north of Sydney and just over an hour south of Newcastle, New South Wales, The Entrance is a very popular destination for holiday makers and offers singles, couples and families the perfect location to relax or enjoy many outdoor activities.
| There are various attractions for all visitors. Pelican feeding is one of the most popular and The Entrance is internationally recognised as 'The Pelican Capital of Australia'. There is daily feeding at 3.30pm along with a live educational commentary at the pelican pavilion on the foreshore. Another option is to take a stroll on The Boardwalk which flows from the Memorial Park to the surf lifesaving club. The walk starts from the popular mall called ‘The Waterfront’ which is full of cafes, eateries and fountains. | |  |
Picnic Point is a scenic area on the southern peninsular and is a very common spot for families with a large park and boat ramp. Blue Bay, Toowoon Bay, Little Bay, Shelly Beach (a major surf beach) and Bateau Bay are located on the south-western side of the peninsular which are near the sailing area of Long Jetty and the Tuggerah Lake.
 | | There are a number of look outs and national parks to explore such as the Wyrrabalong National Park, Crackneck Lookout, Wyrrabalong Lookout, and the Tuggerah Beach Walking Track. The Tuggerah Lake is a nice spot for fishing, sailing, waterskiing, canoeing and more. |
The Entrance is a great place to visit as it is driving distance of a number of towns outside the region, particularly the large mining towns which include The Hunter Valley, Maitland and Dubbo.

ChromeFest will be held on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st October 2012. This 2.5 day event is set to showcase Classic American Auto's and Hot Rods, Roack and Roll entertainment, Dance Groups plust over 45 market stalls. Be sure to stick around to see the Street Cruise and fashions of the 50's and 60's. There will also be activities for the kids. On the Sunday there will be over 500 cars on display in the "Show and Shine" Car Show.There will also be entertainment held throughout local venues in the area.  | | | | Central Coast Half Marathon
On Sunday 25th November 2012, the Mingara One Central Coast Half Marathon and 10km fun run will be held at The Entrance, NSW Central Coast. Both of the runs will follow the cycle path from The Entrance to Chittaway Bay.
